He teaches courses in critical thinking, film and humanities in the English department of San Diego Mesa college, He has a PhD in Literature and Film from the University of Southern California,Los Angeles. His poems, short stories and essays on film, literature and on culture have been widely published in India and in America. Currently he writes regularly for BIBLIO, the art and cultural journal that comes out from Delhi. He has published two books on Indian Cinema Between Tradition and Modernity The Cinema of Satyajit Ray Cambridge University Press, 2000 In Black And White Hollywood Melodrama and Guru Dutt.
